Google Chrome releases update to fix critical security vulnerabilities

Google has released a new stable update for its Chrome desktop browser to address 26 security vulnerabilities. Among these, two have been classified as critical use-after-free (UAF) flaws.

The first critical vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2026-84353, is located in Shared Tab Groups. It could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the browser sandbox through social engineering, such as luring a user to a malicious website. The second, tracked as CVE-2026-84352, affects WebGL and could similarly allow code execution outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page.

Other addressed issues include vulnerabilities in the browser and proxy components, the Dawn graphics abstraction layer, the GPU component, and the V8 JavaScript engine. Users are encouraged to update to version 152.0.7977.76 for Windows and Mac, or 152.0.7977.75 for Linux, to mitigate these risks.
