Google Chrome releases version 150 security update and adds Gemini “Select from screen” AI tool

Google has begun rolling out Chrome version 150 (build 150.0.7871.46/47) for Windows, macOS and Linux. The update contains 433 bug fixes and security patches aimed at closing known vulnerabilities and improving overall stability. Users are advised to install the update promptly, either automatically or by checking the “About Google Chrome” menu.

In parallel, Google introduced a new AI‑assisted feature called “Select from screen” for its Gemini assistant inside the Chrome browser. The tool lets users capture portions of a webpage—text, images or other elements—and send them directly to Gemini for contextual analysis and responses. The feature is available in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, India and other regions, but remains disabled in the United Kingdom.

Both changes reflect Google’s push to keep Chrome secure while deepening its integration with AI capabilities.
