Google Chrome tests new horizontal scrolling for tab management

Google is testing a new horizontal scrolling feature in Chrome Canary designed to help users manage large numbers of open tabs. The system functions similarly to an infinite filing cabinet, allowing users to navigate through dozens or hundreds of pages by using the mouse wheel or dedicated arrows while keeping pinned tabs fixed to the left.

Currently, tabs that exceed the visible width of the browser bar remain hidden, requiring manual controls to access. The new experimental feature, accessible via a flag, allows for fluid horizontal movement across the entire tab strip. This update follows the recent introduction of vertical tabs and aims to streamline navigation for heavy browser users.
