Google Chromecast users report recurring Wi-Fi connectivity issues
Users of Google Chromecast devices, specifically the Chromecast with Google TV models, are reporting persistent connectivity issues. Many owners have noted that their devices lose Wi-Fi connection after periods of inactivity, often resulting in the Wi-Fi switch being disabled in settings or displaying a connection without internet access.
Reports suggest these issues may have emerged following recent software updates. While factory resets can temporarily resolve the problem, the connection issues often return within one to two weeks.
Technical guidance also highlights common installation errors that can cause device instability. These include improper power supply methods, such as plugging the USB cable directly into a television's USB port, which may not provide sufficient power, and confusion between the setup processes for older Chromecast generations versus newer Google TV models.
