Google clarifies Pixel Watch 1 support after health-sync bug

Google has clarified that the original Pixel Watch remains fully supported following a software bug that caused confusion among owners. Some users had received notifications stating that their devices would soon stop syncing sleep and workout data with Google Health due to running an older version of Wear OS.

The warning caused concern because the first-generation smartwatch had already reached the end of its guaranteed software support period, leading to speculation about forced obsolescence. However, Google confirmed in a post on its support community that the message was sent in error and that the issue has been resolved. Owners do not need to upgrade to a newer model to maintain their health-tracking functionality.
