Google Classroom Adds Learning Goals Feature; Mobile OMR Apps Accelerate Grading

Google has introduced a native Learning Goals feature inside Google Classroom, allowing educators to attach assignments directly to specific learning skills or official academic standards such as CCSS or NGSS. The tool is available across all Google Workspace editions without additional cost and supports multiple language rollouts. Teachers can configure up to five standard sets per class in just a few clicks, simplifying progress tracking and mastery reporting.

Separately, mobile optical mark recognition (OMR) applications such as Doğru Cevap enable teachers to create, print, scan and grade multiple‑choice exams using a smartphone camera. Exams are generated with QR codes and can be shuffled to reduce cheating. The offline‑first OMR engine processes answer sheets locally, providing instant scores, detailed reports and optional cloud synchronization. The app supports Turkish and English, offering a low‑cost alternative to traditional grading hardware.

Both tools aim to reduce teachers' administrative workload and give quicker insight into student performance, reflecting a broader shift toward integrated education technology solutions.
