Google Cloud launches industry-specific Gemini Enterprise AI for legal and finance

Google Cloud has launched industry-specific versions of its Gemini Enterprise AI platform, specifically tailored for the legal and financial services sectors. These new offerings, available in preview, are designed to handle highly regulated workflows by integrating AI models with secure, licensed data sources and existing enterprise systems.

Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services features a Google-managed Financial Research agent equipped with over 50 specialized skills. It provides secure connections to 13 data providers, including FactSet, Moody’s, S&P Global, and PitchBook. Major institutions such as Deutsche Bank and CME Group are early users, with Deutsche Bank serving as a design partner. The platform aims to automate research, risk assessment, and compliance tasks while ensuring data provenance and auditability.

Gemini Enterprise for Legal is designed to assist law firms with contract review, regulatory tracking, and litigation preparation. It utilizes Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors to integrate with legal software like iManage, NetDocuments, and RelativityOne. Early customers include Cleary Gottlieb, Freshfields, Weil, and Williams & Connolly. The system is built to ensure that sensitive client data remains within the customer’s private cloud.

Additionally, Google Cloud is introducing new pricing models for Gemini Enterprise, including a pay-as-you-go option and monthly spending caps to help businesses manage AI costs. In a separate strategic move, Google Cloud has partnered with Verizon to deploy Gemini Enterprise across the telecommunications provider’s operations and customer service infrastructure.
