Google disables GoFullPage Chrome extension following security alert

Google has issued a security alert and disabled the popular Chrome extension GoFullPage, which is used by over 11 million people to capture full-page screenshots. The extension has been removed from the Chrome Web Store.

While users on platforms like Reddit expressed concerns regarding potential malware or account hijacking, a member of the GoFullPage development team clarified that the removal was not due to a security breach. Instead, Google cited violations of Web Store policies and an exceeding of permitted permissions. The development team stated that Google has contacted them and they are currently working to restore the extension's functionality.
