Google expands AI image editing with Google Pics and Photos updates
Google is expanding its suite of AI-driven creative tools with updates to Google Photos and the introduction of Google Pics.
Google Photos has added a mosaic tool that allows users to mask and blur specific parts of an image using three different styles: fine mosaic, large mosaic, and a frosted glass effect. This feature enables users to easily hide sensitive information before sharing photos on social media.
Additionally, Google has released Google Pics, an intuitive graphic design and image editing tool available to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. Integrated within Google Workspace, the tool allows users to generate images from scratch or edit existing ones using text prompts. Users can perform complex tasks such as creating event flyers, changing object colors, or removing unwanted people from photos by simply describing the desired changes. While highly capable of fine-tuning elements, the tool may face challenges with large-scale structural changes to images.
