Google expands AI Mode with flight tracking and hotel booking
Google is expanding the capabilities of its AI Mode in Search to include comprehensive travel planning and booking features. The update allows users to interact with a conversational interface to track flight prices, compare rewards, and book accommodations.
Key features include flight price tracking, which is available in over 180 countries and territories. Users can request price alerts for specific routes and dates, receiving email notifications when fares change. The service pulls data from more than 300 airlines and travel websites.
Additionally, AI Mode now supports hotel bookings, a feature currently rolling out in English in the United States. Through partnerships with major providers such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Marriott International, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, users can select rooms and pay via Google Pay. The platform also integrates loyalty program data, allowing travelers to view the cost of flights and hotels in points or miles globally.
