Google expands AI training and small business support in US and Canada
Google is expanding its artificial intelligence training and support initiatives for small businesses in both the United States and Canada.
In the United States, Google.org has awarded a $1 million grant to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. This funding will support the second phase of the ‘Go Digital Initiative,’ expanding AI training to 20 chambers of commerce and local organizations across New York State. The program aims to provide resources and implementation guides to help at least 200 small businesses integrate AI into their daily operations.
In Canada, marking its 25th anniversary, Google is launching a national initiative to provide up to 100,000 scholarships for AI training through a partnership with YMCA Canada. Additionally, Google.org is providing over $2.7 million CAD to the Canadian Chamber of Commerce for an AI Adoption Program designed to assist more than 10,000 small and medium-sized businesses. A recent economic impact report commissioned by Google suggests that generative AI could potentially boost the Canadian economy by $230 billion.
