Google expands availability of experimental Dreambeans AI app

Google has expanded the availability of Dreambeans, an experimental app from Google Labs designed to generate personalized daily visual stories. Previously requiring a subscription, the service is now available for free testing to Google Account holders in the United States.

The app utilizes Google’s Personal Intelligence system and Nano Banana 2 technology to curate content based on user data from integrated services such as Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Search, YouTube, and Gemini. By analyzing these signals, Dreambeans can suggest topics like places to visit, shows to watch, or upcoming event reminders.

Each story, referred to as a ‘dreambean,’ features customized artwork rather than stock imagery. If users grant permission to access Google Photos, the app can incorporate visual memories of friends and family into the generated stories. The platform also includes an ‘Ask anything’ chat feature to provide deeper information on recommended topics.
