Google expands Gemini AI integration across Photos, Play Store, and Home

Google is expanding its AI capabilities across several consumer platforms through the integration of Gemini and new agent-based functionalities.

In Google Photos, the Gemini Spark feature will allow users to use AI agents to organize and edit their libraries. The tool can perform complex tasks such as creating shared albums, editing images, and converting information from photos, like concert flyers, into calendar appointments. This feature is expected to roll out in the coming weeks for Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US.

Google is also preparing a dedicated section within the Play Store for applications created via AI Studio, often referred to as ‘vibe coding’. This ‘Your Creations’ area aims to provide an organized interface for users to manage and potentially share apps generated through AI.

Additionally, Google has launched early access to Home MCP, a server based on the Model Context Protocol. This allows third-party AI agents, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to interact with Google Home devices. These agents can monitor device states, identify rooms, and execute commands, though sensitive security features like locks and garage doors remain restricted.
