Google expands Gemini AI integration for Google Sheets to iOS

Google has announced the availability of Gemini AI features for Google Sheets on iOS devices, following previous releases for web and Android platforms. Users on iOS can now access the Gemini side panel by tapping the spark icon to ask questions about data, generate analytical insights, and create charts while mobile.

On desktop, Gemini in Google Sheets allows users to create tables, write formulas, generate data analysis, build charts, and summarize files. While the tool offers extensive capabilities such as applying conditional formatting and creating pivot tables, users should note that charts generated by the AI do not currently update automatically when source data changes.

The rollout for iOS began on October 15, 2026, with a gradual release period of up to 15 days. Access is available to eligible users under various Google Workspace plans, including Business Starter, Standard, and Plus, as well as Enterprise and Education add-ons.
