Google Gemini 3.5 Pro launch delayed to July

Google has postponed the release of its next‑generation Gemini 3.5 Pro artificial‑intelligence model from June to July 2026. The delay is intended to give the company extra time to gather feedback from early testers and refine the model, addressing issues such as rapid token consumption observed in the preceding Flash 3.5 version.

The Gemini 3.5 Pro, teased at the May I/O developer conference where CEO Sundar Pichai announced a June debut, is expected to deliver improved performance on long‑text tasks and autonomous agents. Google aims to strengthen its competitive position against AI rivals including Anthropic, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Claude.

No official comment from Google has confirmed the new timeline, but insiders say the additional month will be used to polish the model before a broader rollout.
