Google unveils new Home speaker and offers cheaper Gemini AI options
A user obtained a pre‑release unit of Google’s upcoming Home smart speaker before the official launch. The device shows a slimmer, more minimalist design compared with earlier models, upgraded tactile buttons and LED indicators, and reportedly delivers richer bass and clearer treble. Early impressions also note faster Google Assistant voice recognition and hints of additional connectivity options, fueling strong anticipation among tech enthusiasts.
Google is also promoting a range of ways to use its Gemini AI service at little or no cost. The free tier remains available to any Google Account holder, while the AI Plus plan costs R$ 24.99 per month (approximately US $4.90) and offers larger usage limits and 400 GB of cloud storage. Cost‑saving options include sharing a Google One family plan, a 12‑month free AI Plus subscription for eligible Itaú bank customers, and six months of free AI Pro for buyers of select Samsung devices. These offers aim to broaden access to advanced generative‑AI features without the full price of the AI Pro tier.
