Google Health App Roadmap Highlights Outstanding Features and Fixes

Google has outlined a roadmap for its Health app following a recent redesign, detailing the remaining enhancements across several focus areas. The company plans to expand exercise tracking, improving automatic detection for Fitbit Air devices and correcting labeling errors. Data export issues, connectivity handling during live tracking, and metric consistency when multiple devices are used are also slated for improvement.

In nutrition and calorie tracking, Google aims to refine goal‑setting, prevent duplicate logs from third‑party services such as MyFitnessPal, Cronometer and LoseIt, and correct energy‑burn over‑reporting for Pixel Watch users. Additional features include more granular deletion options, clearer source labeling for food entries, and expanded data‑sharing capabilities, such as interoperability with Apple Health and medical‑record sharing via Smart Health Links. The roadmap also mentions upcoming support for command‑line interfaces and AI tools to interact with personal health data.

These updates target bug fixes, user‑experience refinements, and broader third‑party integration, signaling Google’s ongoing effort to consolidate health data within its Android ecosystem and improve cross‑device functionality.
