Google Health ends Fitbit login support with version 5.08
Google has released version 5.08 of Google Health, marking the final stage of its integration of Fitbit services into the Google ecosystem. This update makes a Google account mandatory for app usage, officially ending the ability to log in using standalone Fitbit accounts.
The migration process, which was originally announced in 2022, has now reached its conclusion. While active accounts are being transitioned into Google profiles, users who failed to migrate their data face the permanent deletion of their historical Fitbit information.
The rollout of version 5.08 is occurring at different speeds across platforms; it is fully available on iOS, while the Android release is being deployed in waves. The app remains compatible with Fitbit devices, the Pixel Watch, and various third-party health applications.
