Google Health integrates with Garmin, Huawei, and other smartwatches

Google Health has received an upgrade that allows it to serve as a central hub for health and fitness data by integrating with various third-party smartwatches and trackers. While Pixel devices offer the most seamless integration, the platform supports a wide range of hardware from manufacturers including Garmin, Samsung, Huawei, Oura, and Whoop.

To facilitate this data sharing, the system often relies on manufacturer-specific apps and the Health Connect feature. For instance, Garmin devices typically sync with Garmin Connect before passing data to Google Health. On devices running Android 14 or newer, Health Connect is installed by default to help bridge the connection between different fitness apps and hardware.
