Google Home update expands third‑party camera support

Google has released a new version of its Google Home app that improves live‑view support for a broader range of third‑party security cameras. The update adds reliable viewing of home‑security feeds from brands such as Wyze Labs, Anker’s Eufy line, TP‑Link’s Tapo cameras, Reolink, Nanit, as well as existing Nest and Walmart (Onn) devices. Earlier integrations often allowed basic control but live video was inconsistent; the new rollout aims to make the main camera view open directly to timelines or event lists and to provide smoother streaming.

Additional quality‑of‑life features include a quick “Save Clip” shortcut for downloading event recordings, AI‑generated event summaries within the full‑screen view, automatic landscape full‑screen mode, and various performance fixes for Android and iOS. The changes are intended to let users monitor all of their smart‑home cameras from a single platform.
