Google integrates Gemini AI into Maps and Drive

Google is expanding its Gemini AI integration across several platforms, including Google Maps and Google Drive. In Google Maps, users can now utilize natural language voice commands to perform navigation-related tasks. This includes searching for gas stations, restaurants, or supermarkets along a route, requesting toll-free paths, or adding stops to an active journey.

In Google Drive, the integration of Gemini allows the platform to process the full text within documents rather than just file names. This capability enables the AI to summarize long reports or locate specific clauses within contracts. While Drive has indexed document text for search purposes for years, the new AI integration uses this processed information to provide personalized suggestions and answers across various Google services.
