Google integrates Gemini Spark with Google Photos for AI management

Google is expanding its AI capabilities through the integration of Gemini Spark with Google Photos. This update allows the AI agent to perform complex, multi-stage workflows such as searching for specific subjects, locations, or dates, curating albums, and filtering duplicates. Users can also request edits, create collages, and automate recurring tasks like generating monthly highlight albums.

Beyond simple organization, Gemini Spark can extract text from images to create calendar events or Google Docs. The feature is being rolled out gradually to Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States, primarily in English.

Additionally, Google has begun deploying 'Pics,' a web-based image editor built on Nano Banana models. Pics provides element-level editing within Google Workspace, allowing users to manipulate specific parts of an image, translate embedded text in 29 languages, and increase resolution up to 4K.

On the Android platform, Gemini is also receiving multitasking updates, including a floating bubble feature that allows the AI overlay to remain accessible while users switch between different applications.
