Google integrates Nano Banana AI into Google Earth
Google is integrating Nano Banana, an AI image generation system from Gemini, into Google Earth. This new feature allows users to generate customized images based on satellite, aerial, and 3D views. Capabilities include visualizing historical sites, creating educational infographics, and generating architectural or real estate proposals by transforming real-world locations through text prompts.
Alongside these creative updates, Google is changing its approach to visible watermarking on AI-generated images. While the visible watermark in the corner of images may be removed, the company will continue to use SynthID, an invisible watermark. This shift has raised concerns regarding the potential for misinformation, as the invisible watermark is not detectable by the human eye and requires specific tools or queries to Gemini to verify authenticity.
