Google launches Docs Live for mobile voice-to-document drafting

Google has begun rolling out Docs Live for the Google Docs mobile application on Android and iOS. This new feature utilizes Gemini AI to transform natural spoken conversation into structured document drafts, such as project proposals, meeting summaries, or event plans.

Unlike traditional voice dictation that performs literal transcription, Docs Live interprets context and intent. It can organize scattered ideas into coherent outlines and drafts. The tool can also integrate information from a user’s Gmail, Google Drive, Google Chat, and the web to personalize and ground the content in relevant data.

Users can interact with the assistant through natural dialogue to request edits, expansions, or formatting changes via voice. The feature is being made available to eligible Google Workspace subscribers, including Business Standard/Plus and Enterprise Standard/Plus tiers, as well as individual Google AI Pro/Ultra users and specific educational plans.
