Google issues major security patches for Pixel and Android

Google has released significant security updates to address numerous vulnerabilities across its ecosystem. A massive patch for the Google Pixel smartphone family fixes 110 security flaws, including a critical zero-day vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-58704. This specific flaw affects the cellular modem and allows attackers to bypass permission controls and escalate privileges through cellular network interaction.

In addition to the Pixel-specific updates, Google has issued the October 2026 Android security update. This package addresses 25 vulnerabilities within the Framework and System components, seven of which are classified as critical. The vulnerabilities include privilege escalation, denial of service (DoS), information disclosure, and one flaw that could allow remote code execution. Notably, one system defect allows for local privilege escalation without requiring any user interaction.
