Google launches Create My Widget app powered by Gemini AI

Google has released the “Create My Widget” app on the Play Store, marking a significant step in integrating Gemini Intelligence into device customization. The tool allows users to generate personalized widgets using natural language prompts or by selecting from various predefined templates.

The app is currently available in a desktop release version compatible with Googlebooks, with a broader rollout expected for Android smartphones. On Googlebooks, the interface includes categories such as Weather, Sports & fitness, Events & travel, Daily habits, Important dates, Finance, and Tools & tips.

For Android phones, the experience features a guided creation process with categories like Combo, Weather alerts, My world clock, Daily Brief, Important dates, and Markets. Users can either use suggested carousels or utilize a prompt box to “describe your widget” to create a custom design. The final step allows users to add the AI-generated widget directly to their home screen.
