Google launches free AI training for educators in England and Malaysia

Google is expanding its educational initiatives by providing free artificial intelligence training to educators in England and Malaysia.

In England, Google for Education is launching the Gemini Roadshow, a series of free, full-day training sessions. The program focuses on the practical application of AI tools such as Gemini, Gemini Notebook, and Google Workspace Studio to assist with lesson planning, student assessment, and administrative tasks. The roadshow includes scheduled stops in Leeds, Coventry, Newcastle, Bristol, Nottingham, and Portsmouth, with additional dates to be announced for Blackburn and Peterborough. The initiative also emphasizes the responsible and secure use of AI in classrooms.

In Malaysia, Google has introduced the Google AI Educator Series (GES) following the enablement of Gemini for Education by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education. The GES is a free, self-paced literacy program consisting of short lessons designed to help K-12 and higher education faculty integrate AI into lesson planning, parent communications, and interactive simulations. This follows reports that over 200,000 educators in Malaysia have already obtained Gemini Certified Educator certification.
