Google launches Gemini‑powered Home Speaker for European market
Google announced its new Google Home Speaker, the first audio device built from the ground up for the Gemini generative‑AI model. The compact speaker measures 8.9 cm in height and 10.1 cm in diameter, and is priced at €119.99. Pre‑orders began on 17 June, with sales starting on 25 June across Europe.
The device houses a quad‑core 2 GHz A55 processor, a dedicated NPU for AI tasks, 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 4 GB eMMC storage. Audio hardware includes a 75 mm woofer, two 19 mm drivers, Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and Matter compatibility. Gemini enables more natural voice interactions, allowing users to issue compound commands for lighting, temperature and other smart‑home actions. The speaker can be paired with a Google TV Streamer for an integrated home‑entertainment setup.
