Google launches Gmail Live voice‑search test using Gemini AI
Google is testing a new voice‑enabled search feature for Gmail, called Gmail Live, that lets users ask the Gemini AI to locate, summarise or extract information from their emails. The feature, currently in a trial on Android and iOS, displays a blue light border while transcribing spoken requests and returns answers in text and spoken form. Google plans to roll it out to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers during the summer.
The company is also preparing a visual cue for premium AI users: a gradient‑styled “Aura Ring” around the account avatar that would indicate access to Gemini‑powered features. The ring, currently a four‑colour design, may gain a blue‑violet gradient for Google AI plan holders when a new compact account selector is released.
