Google launches new Structured Data updates for advertising and e‑commerce

Google has released Structured Data Files version 10.1 for its Display & Video 360 platform. The update adds an AI‑label field for YouTube video assets, support for digital‑out‑of‑home (DOOH) campaign placement, and new columns that map creatives to line items and inventory modes. All prior SDF versions are deprecated, and developers are urged to migrate using Google’s guide.

In a separate update, Google refreshed its structured‑data documentation for Merchant Listings. The changes introduce a product.category property that can accept plain‑text or a CategoryCode aligned with Google’s taxonomy, and clarify how to specify promotion periods using validFrom, validThrough or priceValidUntil fields in ISO‑8601 format. The goal is to align merchant feeds more closely with schema.org and improve data consistency in Search and Shopping, though the update does not guarantee higher organic rankings.
