Google launches Universal Cart AI shopping tool in the US
Google has launched Universal Cart in the United States, a new AI-driven shopping feature integrated across Google Search, the Gemini app, and Chrome. The tool allows users to aggregate products from various retailers into a single, centralized shopping list, serving as an alternative to managing multiple browser tabs or screenshots.
Built upon Google’s Shopping Graph, which contains over 60 billion product listings, Universal Cart provides automated updates regarding price drops and product restocks. The feature also leverages Google Wallet to identify relevant promotional codes and suggest optimal payment methods based on specific credit card benefits.
Users can complete purchases through Google Pay for a streamlined checkout experience or transfer items directly to a merchant’s own website. Major retailers already supporting simplified checkout through this system include Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair, and various Shopify merchants.
