Google Maps adds Saved Trips and fuel‑saving route icon

Google Maps now offers a “Saved trips” feature that lets users store frequent routes and quickly check real‑time traffic without re‑entering start and end points. The saved route can be opened anytime to view estimated arrival times, compare alternatives and adjust plans on the fly.

The app also displays a leaf icon on navigation routes that have been optimized for lower fuel consumption. The eco‑friendly routing takes traffic flow, road grade and speed stability into account, and users can enable or disable the feature in the settings or while navigating. Both functionalities aim to make daily commuting more efficient and environmentally conscious.
