Osaka University ranks first in 2026 programming power ranking

Osaka University has secured first place in the 2026 University Programming Power Ranking, based on performance in the ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) domestic qualifiers. The ranking, released by Popcorn Co., Ltd., evaluated 353 teams from 86 universities.

Osaka University achieved the top spot as the only team to successfully solve all 10 problems. Keio University ranked second as the top private institution, followed by the Tokyo Institute of Technology in third.

The ranking criteria prioritized the highest individual team rank, followed by the number of teams placing within the top 30. Other notable performers included Kyoto University in fourth and the University of Tokyo in fifth. The results also highlighted significant improvements from Hokkaido University, University of Tsukuba, and University of Electro-Communications.
