Google Maps to add Gemini personal AI for customized travel planning
Google Maps is set to integrate Gemini’s personal artificial‑intelligence feature, allowing the navigation app to draw on data from other Google services such as Gmail, Photos, Contacts, Drive, YouTube and Google Search. The integration, spotted in a beta version (26.30.00.950492155) by Android Authority, would let users make more complex queries – for example, asking Gemini to locate a specific photo and email it, or to plan a trip by combining hotel reservations, flight details and saved places into a single itinerary. The feature, part of Google’s Personalized Intelligence framework, remains disabled for now, with a launch expected in the coming weeks. Users will retain control over the AI’s access and can adjust settings within the app at any time.
