Google Meet integrates Gemini AI for automated note-taking

Google has introduced ‘Take Notes for Me’, an integration of Gemini AI within Google Meet designed to act as an automated secretary. The tool listens to meetings, structures key points, and prepares them in a document to allow participants to focus on the conversation rather than manual note-taking.

Access to this feature is determined by specific Google Workspace editions. It is included in Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Frontline Plus, as well as the Google AI Pro for Education add-on. Personal accounts require a valid Google AI plan. Notably, the feature follows the license of the meeting organizer; users with basic accounts can benefit if the host has an Enterprise account. However, Business Starter and Enterprise Starter plans do not include this functionality.

Currently, the AI supports eight languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. The tool is limited to one language per session.
