Google Messages introduces personalized Chat Themes

Google has launched a new Chat Theme feature for Google Messages, allowing users to personalize their messaging experience. The update enables individuals to customize conversation aesthetics by changing message bubble colors and selecting specific backgrounds.

Users can choose from preset wallpaper categories such as Animals, Landscapes, and Space, or upload personal photos from their device gallery. The feature is designed to be private; any visual changes made by a user are only visible on their own device and do not affect the recipient's interface.

To utilize these customization options, the Rich Communication Services (RCS) protocol must be enabled. This rollout aligns with broader strategic moves for the Android platform, including reports that Google Messages is positioned to replace Samsung Messages as the standard messaging application.
