Google Messages to introduce satellite maps and live traffic data

Google is developing significant functional enhancements for its Google Messages application to improve real-time location sharing. According to findings from the latest beta version, users will soon be able to toggle between different map layers directly within the chat interface.

New features include the ability to switch between Basic, Satellite, and Terrain views. Additionally, a toggle for map details and live traffic information will allow users to see current road conditions, such as traffic jams, without leaving the conversation. This update aims to streamline social coordination by reducing the need to switch between the messaging app and external navigation tools like Google Maps.
