Google Messages to upgrade location-sharing features

Google is preparing a significant update to the location-sharing functionality within the Google Messages app. Hidden code discovered in a recent Android beta version suggests that users will soon be able to move beyond the standard Google Maps view.

The upcoming upgrade is expected to include multiple map layers, such as satellite and terrain views. These options are intended to help users identify specific landmarks or navigate remote areas more effectively. Additionally, the update will allow users to overlay live traffic information, making it easier to coordinate meet-ups and account for delays caused by road congestion.
