Google partners with Flo Health to expand women’s health technology

Google has announced a multi-year partnership and investment in Flo Health, a period-tracking platform used by over 80 million women monthly. The collaboration aims to integrate Flo Health’s data with Google Health and Google’s AI health coaching services.

Starting in early 2027, users will be able to sync Flo Health data with Google Health metrics, such as sleep stages and resting heart rate, to provide a more comprehensive view of daily health. The companies also intend to conduct joint research into underserved medical areas, including perimenopause, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, PCOS, and endometriosis. Future plans include developing co-branded products that combine Flo’s algorithms with Google’s wearable hardware.

In a separate announcement, Google introduced the Fitbit Edge, a new smartwatch-style wearable designed to bridge the gap between advanced smartwatches and simple fitness bands.

Regarding data security, the companies stated that no data will be shared between apps without explicit user permission, and Flo Health data will not be used for advertising or sold to third parties.
