Google Pause Point feature appears on OnePlus 13R
Google’s digital wellbeing tool, Pause Point, is appearing on third-party hardware for the first time. While the feature was previously exclusive to the Google Pixel ecosystem, it has been identified in the ColorOS 17 beta for the OnePlus 13R.
Pause Point is designed to combat compulsive app usage and doomscrolling. When a user attempts to open an application previously marked as a distraction, such as TikTok or Instagram, the system triggers a 10-second countdown. This mechanism is intended to encourage mindfulness and intentionality before the app launches. The feature requires manual activation by the user and is integrated into Android 17.
Although some official Google documentation has previously suggested compatibility might be limited to the Pixel 11 series running Android 17 or higher, the appearance of the tool on OnePlus devices suggests a broader rollout to other Android 17 devices equipped with Digital Wellbeing features.
