Google Pay updates Flex credit card rewards in India
Google Pay is revising the reward structure for its co-branded Flex credit card, issued in partnership with Axis Bank and SBI Card, effective October 16, 2026. The update introduces a tiered reward system based on monthly spending and Google One subscription status.
Cardholders must spend at least Rs 15,000 within a billing cycle to unlock higher return rates. Once this threshold is met, Google One subscribers will earn 3.2% back in Stars, while non-subscribers will earn 1.6%. Each Star is valued at Rs 1.
Google One members also receive additional category-specific benefits, including a 5% extra return on up to Rs 5,000 spent on food and grocery apps, and a 15% extra return on up to Rs 3,000 spent on utilities, recharges, and OTT platforms. New cardholders can access welcome benefits worth up to Rs 2,500 during their first 60 days, and certain Axis Bank variants offer hardware discounts on Google Pixel and Fitbit devices.
