Google Photos tests video creator and new playback controls

Google is testing several updates to the Google Photos application, according to findings from an APK teardown of version 7.98. One major change involves renaming the existing ‘Highlight Videos’ feature to ‘Video Creator,’ a move that may suggest a broader focus on editing and personalization.

New controls are also being developed to give users more autonomy over automated content. This includes an option to disable music across all ‘Memories’ at once through the settings menu, rather than having to mute them individually during playback. Additionally, a new shortcut will allow users to control the automatic playback of ‘Motion Photos’ within the photo grid.

While these features have been identified within the app's code, Google has not yet announced an official release date for these updates.
