Google Pixel 11 battery drain linked to specific Wi-Fi routers

Users of the Google Pixel 11 series, specifically the Pixel 11 Pro XL, have reported significant battery drain while the devices are in standby mode. Reports indicate that the battery can lose between 2.5% and 3% per hour even when the phone is idle.

Investigations using the BetterBatteryStats application suggest the issue is linked to excessive network activity. In some tests, the Wi-Fi connection caused the device to wake up approximately 135 times per minute. Switching from Wi-Fi 6 to Wi-Fi 5 significantly reduced these wake-ups to roughly 2.4 times per minute, lowering battery loss to about 1% per hour.

The problem appears to be related to specific router models rather than a universal flaw in the MediaTek modem used in the Pixel 11. While Wi-Fi 6 connectivity on certain routers like Tenda Mesh3X, TP-Link Omada, and Fritz!Box seems to trigger the high consumption, other hardware like Huawei ONT has shown normal behavior.
