Google Pixel 11 series introduces Tensor G6 and HiLight feature

The Google Pixel 11 series, featuring the new Tensor G6 processor, has entered the market with mixed technical feedback. While the Tensor G6 chip may not match the raw graphical performance of competitors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, users report smooth daily performance, efficient task handling, and manageable thermal levels during standard use.

One notable hardware addition in the Pixel 11 Pro models is ‘HiLight,’ a programmable multi-color LED light designed to provide a physical presence for the Gemini AI assistant and allow color-coded notifications for specific contacts. However, critics note the feature is currently limited to incoming calls and does not yet support text messages or other apps.

Technical comparisons between the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro reveal both advancements and regressions. Improvements include a 2nm process for the Tensor G6, increased wireless charging speeds (from 15W to 25W), higher display brightness, and doubled base storage. Conversely, the base model of the Pixel 11 Pro sees a reduction in RAM from 16GB to 12GB, which may impact high-end multitasking and AI capabilities.
