Google Pixel AI features consume significant device storage
Artificial intelligence features on Google Pixel smartphones are consuming large portions of available device storage. The AICore application, which runs in the background to update local AI models, can occupy up to 6.73 GB of space. This trend is particularly evident in newer devices that rely on local data processing.
Other system applications also contribute to storage depletion. The Device Intelligence app, responsible for the Magic Cue feature, uses 1.06 GB, while Pixel Screenshots consumes 1.14 GB. In some cases, users with a base 128 GB model may find themselves with only 96 GB of usable space due to system requirements and AI data accumulation.
To manage this, users can delete local AI model files through AICore settings. For those facing persistent storage pressure, upgrading to a 256 GB model is a primary solution, though it comes at an additional cost.
