Google Pixel phones hit by Android 17 update problems

Google's Android 17 update is causing multiple issues for Pixel devices. Users report that Wi‑Fi connections on phones such as the Pixel 7a repeatedly drop every 20‑30 seconds, regardless of battery‑saving mode, and resetting Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi settings only helps some users. The same update also triggers severe game‑performance degradation, with frame‑rate drops in titles like Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Monster Hunter and Hill Climb Racing 2, effectively rendering them unplayable on newer Pixel models (Pixel 8, 9, and upcoming 10).

Additional complaints include intermittent touchscreen unresponsiveness, speaker static, abnormally slow charging, and call‑drop glitches. Google has not released an official fix; the company recommends users reset network settings or clear the Google Play Services cache as temporary work‑arounds, while some users experiment with beta builds of Android 17.
