Google Pixel Connected Cameras smartphone features livestreaming USB Video Class

Google’s Pixel smartphones feature a “Connected Cameras” function that allows users to link external devices to their phones for filming or streaming. This feature enables users to switch between the smartphone’s primary camera and an external source, such as an action cam, webcam, or another compatible Pixel smartphone (Pixel 6 and newer).

To use this feature, the external device must support the USB Video Class (UVC) standard. While the function allows for seamless perspective switching, it is not a system-wide webcam feature; it must be used within compatible applications. Supported platforms include Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

Users can manage these connections through the device settings under “Connected Devices” and “Connection Settings.” While multiple cameras can be used by switching between them, only one external camera can be connected at a time. Audio is captured from the camera currently in use.
