Samsung prepares Galaxy Glasses smart eyewear with integrated app and cross‑device ecosystem

Samsung is developing its first generation of smart glasses, branded Galaxy Glasses. Leaks show a design based on the Warby Parker model that closely resembles Meta’s Ray‑Ban AI glasses, featuring a slim frame, 12 MP camera, microphones, speakers and photochromic lenses. The devices will run on Android XR with Samsung’s One UI XR, integrating Google’s Gemini AI for hands‑free functions such as photo capture, live translation, navigation and voice assistance.

A companion app called Galaxy Glasses Manager has been uncovered, providing initial pairing, settings, software updates, automatic photo/video transfer to a paired phone, AI assistant control, notification reading, accessibility options and a “find my glasses” feature. Samsung is also preparing a Galaxy Glasses Controller app for its smartwatches and code for gesture control via the Galaxy Ring, indicating tight integration across the Galaxy wearable lineup.

The glasses are being built in collaboration with Google, Qualcomm, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, and are expected to be highlighted at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event in July, with a possible market launch later in the year.
