Google Play Store testing new section for AI-generated apps

Code analysis of the Google Play Store app (version 53.2.23-34) reveals a potential new feature designed to manage and distribute applications created via artificial intelligence. A new menu entry titled “Your creations” was discovered within the “Manage apps and device” section.

This feature appears aimed at supporting “vibecoding,” a process where users generate applications through natural language prompts using generative AI. Currently, the button in the code directs users to Google’s AI Studio mobile website, but analysts suggest Google may eventually integrate its Gemini model directly into the Play Store ecosystem.

The update aims to simplify the distribution of these AI-generated tools. Currently, many small-scale, specialized AI apps must be installed via sideloading, which is a more complex manual process. The new interface would include a “share with everyone” option, allowing users to easily distribute their custom-built applications to others through the official platform.
