Google prepares Wear OS 7 update for Pixel Watch lineup

Verizon support pages for the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4 list Wear OS 7 alongside the June 2026 security patch, indicating that Google is planning to roll out the next major version of its smartwatch platform soon. The pages mention a June 9 release date, although the update has not begun rolling out and Google has not issued an official statement.

Wear OS 7, announced at Google I/O 2026, promises up to a 10 % battery‑life improvement for devices upgrading from Wear OS 6, new 2×1 and 2×2 widget layouts that replace Tiles, and Live Updates that display real‑time information such as delivery progress and sports scores on the watch face. The update also lays the groundwork for Gemini Intelligence, a future AI feature that will initially be limited to newer hardware.

The original 2022 Pixel Watch will not receive Wear OS 7, as its guaranteed software support ends in October 2025. Existing Pixel Watch owners can expect the core OS upgrade, while the full Gemini AI experience may be reserved for newer models.
